Rahul Gandhi Bellary Gathering: Marking 1,000 kilometers on Saturday, the 38th day of the Bharat Jodo Yatra, MP Wayanad Rahul Gandhi will enter the town of Ballari in Karnataka and hold a rally there. The city has a deep association for Congress due to Sonia Gandhi’s constituency victory in a high-stakes battle against late BJP leader Sushma Swaraj in 1999.

Congress still has some clout in Ballari and expects the rally to have an impression across the region, covering nearly 30 Assembly seats.
“Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot, Chhattisgarh CM Bhupesh Baghel will be among several national leaders who will attend the rally,” Karnataka Congress Leader DK Shivakumar said on Thursday.

Amit Shah in Himachal Pradesh: Union Home Minister Amit Shah will be in Himachal Pradesh on Saturday and is expected to release the BJP election theme song.

On Friday, the Elections Commission announced that the state would vote on November 12, with the count taking place on December 8.

While the ruling BJP is banking on the achievements of its Union and State governments, the opposition Congress promises to restore the old employee pension scheme besides providing five lakh jobs. The two sides ruled the state alternately for more than three decades.

In the 68-member Assembly, the BJP currently has 43 members and the Congress 22. There are two independents and one MP from the CPM.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi addresses the Minister of Justice and Legal Secretaries: On Saturday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will address the inaugural session of a two-day All India Conference of Justice Ministers and Legal Secretaries. The conference is organized by the Ministry of Law and Justice of Gujarat, according to a statement released by the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO), adding that “its objective is to provide a common forum for policy makers to discuss issues relating to the Indian Law and Judicial System States and Union Territories will be able to share best practices, exchange new ideas and enhance mutual cooperation through the conference.”

Attorney Generals and State and Union Territory Secretaries will attend the event.
