The two-day congress proves Iran’s attempt to develop the science of sports law, IRNA said on Sunday, citing Parand Azizi, the only Iranian member of the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS).

The presence of CAS and Women in Sport (WISLAW) members in Tehran would be a turning point in the history of Iranian sport, she said.

The International Sports Law Congress will be held at the initiative of the National Olympic Committee of Iran and the cooperation offered by WISLAW, Azizi said.

She introduced WISLAW as a registered association in Switzerland in 2016. Members of WISLAW are legal advisers of the CAS or women active in sports law.

Workshops on sport and human rights, sports and media, doping prevention, good governance in sports organizations and resolution of football disputes will be organized on the sidelines of the congress.
