‘Stop repeated abductions of youths’, Arunachal Pradesh Congress committee urges government
After the repeated abduction of youths from the border areas, the Arunachal Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC) has said that the BJP-led central government should follow through on its repeated verbal assurances to protect the safety, security and l territorial integrity of Arunachal Pradesh. The statement was made in response to reports that the Chinese People’s Liberation Army (PLA) allegedly abducted an Arunachalee you from the Siyungla area of Bishing village in Upper Siang district.
APCC chairman Bosiram Siram told reporters at Rajiv Gandhi Bhavan on Thursday that it was not the first time a youth from the state had been kidnapped by the Chinese army. The Chinese army abducted five youths from the Sera-7 area of Nacho in Upper Subansiri district in September 2020.
He said the state government, in cooperation with the federal government, should create a mechanism to end the repeated abductions of young people living near the country’s international borders. “China has always posed a danger to India, especially in Arunachal Pradesh. Rather than discussing the issue, the BJP-led government should act. Accordingly, we urge the authorities to act quickly and in safely to reunite young people with the hidden family,” he said.
