Biolab participates in the 8th International Congress of Fertility and Genetics

Biolab participated in the 8th International Congress for Fertility and Genetics organized by the Jordan Society for Fertility and Genetics from April 24 to 26, 2019 at the Kempinski Amman Hotel. Biolab – the Kingdom’s leading diagnostic laboratory accredited by four international bodies – highlighted the Janini test which was presented at the congress exhibition. Janini is the newest and most advanced genetic test that pregnant women can take from 10 weeks pregnant without causing a risk of miscarriage to mother or baby as it only requires a blood sample from mother and therefore presents no risk.

Reproductive surgery, reproductive endocrinology, cryopreservation, andrology, embryology and genetics are all topics discussed at the congress by renowned physicians and professors in fertility and genetics.

On this occasion, the CEO and founder of Biolab, Dr Amid Abdelnour, stressed that Biolab is proud to have achieved the most advanced diagnostic technologies thanks to the Janini test which is considered the first of its kind in the Middle East. He pointed out that the test is operated with an accuracy rate of 99.9%. He added that Janini screened for the three most common “Down syndrome” conditions present at birth; Down syndrome, Edwards syndrome, and Patau syndrome, caused by additional or missing genetic information in the baby’s DNA, in addition to the baby’s gender. He assured that Biolab is constantly seeking to share and disseminate the latest developments and scientific knowledge with the rest of the world.
