Bihar Pradesh Congress Committee: Congress Committees of Odisha, Tamil Nadhu and Bihar Pradesh also want Rahul to lead the party

Congress committees in Pradesh, Odisha, Bihar and Tamil Nadu have become the latest to demand that Rahul Gandhi lead the party. The Odisha Congress has also demanded that Sonia Gandhi continue to lead the party if Rahul refuses to succeed her as leader.

While PCCs in Rajasthan, Chhattisgarh and Gujarat have already backed Rahul, other party units including those in Haryana, Assam and Himachal Pradesh are ready to do so in a competitive display of loyalty to the Gandhi family. These PCCs also pass resolutions authorizing the incoming President of Congress to appoint PCC heads and AICC delegates.

“We want Rahul Ji” resolutions are gaining momentum as nominations for the party’s presidential election filing would open from September 24-30. So far, no CCP has issued a call to make Priyanka Gandhi Vadra party president, which is being seen in congressional circles as a downfall in Vadra’s ratings after leading Congress from ‘UP to his worst electoral rout in recent Assembly polls alongside his decision to push for the elevation of Navjot Singh Sidhu as leader of the Punjab PCC.

Meanwhile, some Congress leaders have said that Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, who has returned from a trip abroad, may soon join padayatra led by Rahul Gandhi for a few days.
