Bharat Jodo Yatra should have left Gujarat: Prashant Kishor
Former political strategist Prashant Kishor said on Tuesday that the Congress’s “Bharat Jodo Yatra” should have moved from Gujarat or any other BJP-run state.
He was speaking on the sidelines of a show where he met local leaders and activists supporting the cause of a separate Vidarbha state.
“It would have been better if Congress had launched its Bharat Jodo Yatra from Gujarat, where elections are due later this year, or other BJP-run states like Uttar Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh,” Kishor said. to PTI when asked about the current campaign.
The Yatra, led by Rahul Gandhi, originated in Tamil Nadu.
Notably, there was buzz earlier this year about Kishor joining Congress, but he later said he had declined the offer to lead his election strategy.
Interacting with pro-Vidarbha supporters, he called for a united effort by the people of the region to realize the dream of a separate state. Former BJP MP Ashish Deshmukh had organized the program to formulate a strategy to achieve statehood for the eastern region of Maharashtra.
“If people have hope, then the idea of a separate Vidarbha state can be pursued,” Kishor said. ”The unrest must reach the Center. This should have a national impact. The campaign must emerge from society,” he added.
He has stopped working as a political strategist and wants to work for the people and not for any party, Kishor said.
