Area occupancy, Directory tab: Google is rolling out new features for Maps to make navigation easier this holiday season
The new update features will help users navigate the Google Maps app more conveniently and travel easily. The company said users can use Area Busyness, which is a new feature that combines live occupancy trends, to help them instantly spot when a neighborhood or part of town is near or busiest.
“To help make the coming weeks stress-free, we’re launching new Google Maps tools to help you stay safe, maximize your time with loved ones, and find the perfect spot for a holiday brunch,” said Google in a blog post.
Distribution: what is it?
Thanks to this feature, your visits are much better. Open Google Maps to see places to avoid, such as the area near a party lounge. And if you’re traveling and want to experience some of the city’s most popular areas, you can easily identify the vibrant and bustling neighborhoods.
Area Busyness will start rolling out globally on Android and iOS just in time for this holiday season.
To help users find their way around tall buildings quickly, the tech giant has extended the Directory tab globally to Android and iOS for all airports, malls and transit stations around the world.
When Google rolls out this feature, the user will be able to quickly see what types of stores are in a building (like toy stores or jewelry stores), airport lounges, car rentals, parking lots, and more. Not only that, but in each category, the user will be able to see a list of the companies concerned, in addition to useful information on its opening, its rating and on which floor it is.
This feature will allow you to track the status of your order. Once the user has placed their order with the retailer, picking up with Google Maps will allow them to track the status of the order, share their ETA, and notify the store of the user’s arrival, the everything from the app.
Pickup with Google Maps is now available at over 2,000 stores in over 30 states across the US and will hopefully be rolling out worldwide soon.
