APC Congressional Committee calls on IGP and DSS to falsify Akwa Ibom results – Blueprint Newspapers Limited
All Progressives Congress (APC) Akwa Ibom State Congress Committee Chairman Sheriff Yusuf Banki and Committee Secretary Sule Yakubu have separately petitioned Stephen Leo Ntukekpo, who claims the state chair of the APC in the state.
The petitions dated 11 and 13 January respectively were addressed to the Inspector General of Police, Usman Alkali Baba, the Director General of the Department of State Services (DSS), Mr. Yusuf Magaji Bichi and the President, custodian/extraordinary planning of conventions. (CECPC), Governor Mai Mala Buni.
The duo in their petitions obtained Thursday in Abuja, accused Ntukekpo of perjury and falsifying the signatures of the President and the Secretary of the Congress Committee on several forged documents submitted to a Federal High Court in Abuja (Prosecution No: FHC /ABJ/CS/1635/2021) as purported results of APC State Congresses in Akwa Ibom.
According to the copies received by our correspondent, the Inspector General of Police, Usman Alkali Baba, the President of the National Interim Committee of the APC, Governor Mai Mala Buni and the President of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), the Professor Mahmood Yakubu also received the petitions.
Congress Committee Chairman, Sheriff Yusuf Banki and Secretary, Sule Yakubu, said in their separate petitions obtained in Abuja by reporters, that Ntukekpo and his cronies did not attend the congresses they oversaw; and therefore could not have emerged in a contest they were not part of.
The plaintiffs allege that the documents filed by Ntukekpo and others in an action brought in the Federal High Court, Abuja Judicial Division are forged and therefore fraudulent.
They demand a thorough investigation of the case with a view to establishing a clear case of forgery against Ntukekpo and all others mentioned in the lawsuit, and legal sanctions against them for the criminal act.
Hon. Augustine Ekanem and Nkereuwem Enyongekere emerged as President and Secretary of Congress headed by Yusuf Banki Sheriff and Yakubu Sule and overseen by INEC officials and security guards, at Sheer Grace Arena, Uyo. They are to be inaugurated alongside other recognized and legitimate executives in Akwa Ibom State on Thursday, February 3, 2022.
Ntukekpo had scheduled a parallel APC State Congress at an undisclosed venue with non-delegates and declared himself and other cohorts the winner.
